The Foundation was set up to nurture and disseminate the musical legacy of the late pianist and composer Christoph Delz, to organise and sponsor a triennial international competition for composers and to create a Werkjahr for Swiss nationals. More
Christoph Delz drew his inspiration from the natural world, environmental sounds, literary texts and from early musical styles. He specified these sources of inspiration both in composition titles and in the compositions themselves. They were not hidden: he depicted them clearly, occasionally to the extent of an exact reproduction. More
